The main target of SP8 is to develop methods and models as knowledge base for the design of a forest management DSS for forest managers in the Czech Republic considering uncertainty, multiple ecosystem services, participatory management and bioeconomy aspects:
Research activities are divided into work packages.
In WP1 case study area was selected and some of the activities are running in this area. Also cooperation with SP5 and SP6 was initiated. In 2021 there will be a database for forest management planning.

In WP2, a bioeconomy survey is conducted among 1500 respondents (fall 2020). At the end of 2019, workshop with different stakeholders took place. As a result participants valued at most ecosystem services wood as a source and natural habitat of game.
Interesting data are continuosly collected and analysed in three localities – Oplany, Jevany and Kachní louže with the use of eco-counters.

A study about the drivers of forests visits was conducted.

In WP3 multi-criteria aspects of decision-making are the key topic. Sustainability and ecosystem services, also with a different point of view of stakeholders are taken into account for forest management activities. iLand, BBN, neural network analysis are used for predictions.
WP4 is devoted to identification of uncertainty issues related to spatial and temporal aspects of decision processes and developing a computational methodology for including uncertainty aspects in decision support approaches (Application of ANN and BBN models). Risks related to wildfire, wind and snow are currently under research.
In WP5, bioeconomy is the key topic. Other recent activities are connected with life cycle analysis for whole forestry-wood value chain.
There are interesting results about use of wood already published in Sustainability:

WP6 is aimed at identifying the demands for methodological approaches for decision support in forestry.
