Unique Research on Geomagnetic Storms in Cooperation with the Experts in Vienna

Magnetoreception research is a crucial part of the research for the Subprogram 1 of the EVA4.0 project. In previous years SP1 scientists gathered and published findings from dozens of experiments including observations of deer, wild boar, pigeons, mice, hamsters, and mole rats. Now the team continued with long-term hormones-oriented research on domestic dogs. This March, Nataliia Iakovenko, PhD. and Merle Reige in cooperation with the experts at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna, proceeded over 800 collected organic samples to estimate cortisol levels. The findings of the extensive laboratory analysis should indicate the effect of the geomagnetic storms on stress reactions in domestic dogs. As the results of this unique study will be published in the following months, do not forget to check our website for more information.
